Walker Dunaway Ms. Lehmann English 1-1A 22 February 2019 The Mighty Fire There we were. I was up in the front of the bus with my uncle and grandpa when it started. It was a late summer evening, maybe 6:00 or 7:00 and closing fast when a spark from a homemade wood stove made from an old propane tank my uncle built fell out, causing a raging fire that no one knew about. I heard shattering glass and screams that pierced the cool, crisp air. We all ran outside to see how bad the fire was when my grandpa went to the back of the burning bus to grab two or three of the fire extinguishers. He had to give one to my uncle so he could try to help put the fire out. As the fire raged on, Michael, Kyle, Mary-Rose and I all started to get closer to the dirt road that was about 40 or 50 feet from the closest trailer to the road. The bus was on fire by this, time and my grandpa was running to it.When he got there, he opened the door to the bus and was welcomed by a big cloud of black smoke. His miniature pinscher came running out, trailing smoke, straight us four kids by the road. Shortly after, my uncle and grandpa got to where I was standing. We had the fire fighters on the way, but we knew that it would take about half an hour because we were a ways out of town. Just when the fire on the bus was about to go out, another spark caught the third trailer on fire. The bad thing is, that the third trailer had a lot of gun ammo and reload equipment that all went up in flames. The worst thing hit the whole group at the fire. Our parents were in town watching a movie. A police officer paused the movie and went to the front of the theater. He called for my mom and dad to tell them know what was happening. The police officer took my mom and dad back to the house to see if we were ok and to take us to a safer place. When they got there, my mom was asking questions like, “Oh my god are guys ok?” “Yes, Mom. I am ok.” I answered. “Yep.Me too.” Kyle Replied. “Yep.” said Michael. “Yes.” Affirmed Mary-Rose “Are you hurt?” She asked. “No,Mom.No one is hurt.” Kyle answered. “Ok.Are you sure?” She prodded. “Yes, we are ok.” Kyle reassured her. “Ok. Well, this police officer here is going to bring you to his car.” Mom explained. “Wait is he taking us to jail?” Michael asked. “No, No. I won't let him take you to jail. He is going put you in the back of the car to keep you safe and let you get warm.” Mom said. “Don’t let him take us.”Mary-Rose Cried. “He won't take you.,” Mom answered. When they were able to get us in the back of the car, the police officer put on the movie The Ghost Busters. When the fire was put out, we all had to go to my grandpa’s house in Scoots Valley, California. We stayed at my grandpa’s house for about two months then moved to a apartment in Nevada.
